Joanne Miller Obituary

Joanne Padgett Miller, 55, of Hopewell, died Dec. 1, 2010.

She was born in Bedford, Va. She was a school bus driver for 16 years for the Hopewell Public School System and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Landon Lowry and Joanne Hargis Padgett, and a brother, Landon Lowry "Bo" Padgett Jr.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond Clifton Miller Jr.; a daughter, Patricia A. Miller, both of Hopewell; two sons, Brian S. Miller and wife, Jerri, of Carson, and Brandon S. Miller of Hopewell; four grandchildren, Amber B. Cheatham, Autumn M.M. Cheatham, both of Hopewell, Christopher S. Miller of Carson, Makayla N. Miller of Dinwiddie; three sisters, Susan Wood, Deborah Whitt and Brenda Nichols, all of Bedford, Va.; one brother, Edward Padgett of Bedford; and an uncle, Harry "Sonny" Hargis of Colonial Heights.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, in Woodlawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Hendricks, pastor, officiating. Visitation to follow service. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com.
