Joseph Ash Obituary

Joseph L. Ash, 73, of Hopewell, formerly of Sistersville, W.Va., passed away Jan. 4, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Ash, and sisters Texena, Nila and Hope Ash.

Survivors include brothers, Lorn Ash, Loman Ash, Dorman Ash; sisters, Munice Flesher, Montana Thomas, Una Henderson, Faith Baker, Charity Hadley; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members; his friend and companion of over 10 years, Eileen Schall of Petersburg; and his best friend, Joe Bishop III of Disputanta, who said, "Joe was the best friend I ever had."

He retired from Firestone after 30-plus years of service.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Additional services will be held in Sistersville, W.Va., at a later date. He loved his family and spending time with friends and family. Condolences may be registered with jtmorriss.com.

Some of my best childhood memories were being on the farm in Sistersville playing with my uncle Joe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all our family and friends.
