Lauren Turner Obituary
Lauren was a student at Morgan State University, Baltimore, and was a member of the Maryland Army National Guard, in Dundalk, Md.
Lauren is survived by her parents; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Crump of Petersburg, Va.; and her paternal grandparents, Mr. Lambert and Nancy Turner of Rocky Mount, N.C. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Mr. Oscar R. Crump of Petersburg, Va.
The family is receiving calls at (804) 586-7148 or (540) 752-8853. The family is asking that letters of condolence be sent to 19 Hermitage Drive, Stafford, VA 22556.
A Christian wake will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at A. L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. A funeral service will be at noon Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at First Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 16622 Dumfries Road, Dumfries, VA 22025. Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Friday. I have never met your daughter but, her beautiful face stood out on the page yesterday of the washington post. As I began to read I learned that she is a graduate of North Stafford High. My daugther was a year behind her and, knew her. My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Larry & Lottie, we cannot comprehend the sadness in your hearts at the lost of such a beautiful child. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You don't know me, but I lost my daughter to cancer 2 years ago. She was 33 yrs. old. SHe was my only child. I know what you are going through. They say time heals the pain, but I don't think so. You learn to go on because your sweet daughter would have wanted it that way. Please know that I feel your pain. I knew Lauren as SPC Turner. She was a great soldier but a even better person. With her fun positive attitude and the gift to laugh at herself she made the 20 hour days bearable and fun. She left us way to soon and will be missed tremendously. As a parent I cry for and with you. The road you must walk will be never ending just know you are never alone. We all lost someone special. May you rest in peace.

I knew Lauren as SPC. Turner the fun happy motivated soldier. She was a great soldier but a even better person. I will miss Turner and the fun loving spirit she brought to us on the 20 hour days. Lottie and Larry, Be encouraged in the Lord and accept what God allows knowing that He is too wise to error and to just to fail. God needed another rose, so He plucked Lauren from that which He planted. Lauren spent her 22nd birthday in Heaven, for we know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Stay encouraged!
