1930 - 2019 Obituary Condolences
Mr. Lawrence Scott of Petersburg, transitioned from this life at home surrounded by family. He was a native of Sussex County, later relocating to Petersburg. Lee was the son of the late Leroy and Gladys Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary L. Scott; his sister, Cora L. Walker; brothers, James, Junious, Herman, and Marshall (Edlow); niece, Audrey Scott.
Lee was a member of the Little Mount Baptist Church, where he served as Trustee until his health declined. He was also a member of Masonic Euerka #15 and St. Johns Young Men's Bingo Association. He loved bingo and his CB "Coffeemaker." Lee was employed at Whelan Exxon for years.
Lee is survived by one son, Lawrence; sister, Malendia Lawrence of Washington, DC; sister-in-law, Delores Scott; a host of nieces and nephews, two were his caregivers Joyce Dabney and Sandrea Scott; many friends among them one devoted Ms. Eliza Shine.
A celebration of life will be held 11 am Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Little Mount Baptist Church, 8012 Jerusalem Plank Road, Disputanta, VA. Rev. Charles Davis, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
