I first met Ms. Lena at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart in 2003. I enjoyed our conversations about life. Then I discovered that she was a graduate of my alma mater, Virginia State University. After that, we discovered we were both members of the illustrious organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. These were the common denominators that formed our bond, our sisterhood. I referred to Soror Lena for her wisdom on many issues. After I had my daughter in 2004, we shared stories about the children. Me about my daughter, she about her grandchildren. Soror Lena was truly a lady with class and grace. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. We are never ready to lose a loved one, however, I am sure that you know that she is in a better place with the Lord. Soror Lena, enjoy your new life as you become an Ivy Beyond the Wall! Sisterly, Soror Kenasha.

Oh Lena, how we'll miss you and your generous southern soul. Fourth of July BBQ picnics will not be the same without you. Our heart goes out to those who love and have cared for you, from the big (Albert) to the small (the beautiful miss Maya and her little brother Dean). We rejoice your life and beautiful heart, we will miss your wit and charm as we are saddened by your loss. May your body be at peace and your soul forever shine in our hearts.

Oh how I miss my dear friend and mentor. In 1986, when I first met her at K&L she took me under her wings and allowed me to fly. She invited me into her heart and her home and introduced me to her family and friends. Whenever there was a problem I couldn't solve, I always sought her out for advice and guidance. She was never never short on words nor wisdom. She introduced me to some of my finer and more expensive days of shopping (bought my first pair of Farragamo shoes on one of our shopping outings) plus the many times she took me to the jewelry shows and events. Not only do I have the memories etched in my heart to remember you but I also have some jewelry, shoes and clothes. Thank You For Being A Friend. I Love You, Claudette

"Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves." My heart is deeply saddened at the demise of my dear friend. Lena had a personal style of elegance and grace that was unique. She was truly a sincere friend and colleague. I valued her advice, insight and criticism when warranted. God bless you Lena as you transition from this life to your reward in Heaven.

My wife, Ann, and I were deeply saddened to learn of Lena's passing. We first met when she became my secretary and administrative assistant at the Communications Satellite Corporation (Comsat) and later in private law practice. Lena's professional skills were outstanding, and her warmth and charm always brightened the room. We became friends and shared many experiences together. Christopher was the beneficiary of our children's crib, which they had outgrown, shortly after he was born. Lena refinished it better than new. We had lost touch in recent years and the news of her passing was a shock to us. We want to extend our deepest sympathy to Christopher, Damon and the entire family.

I was truly heartbroken to learn of the passing of my dear friend Lena. We were presidents of our respective AKA chapters at the same time and from that a truly great friendship was formed. We worked, traveled and played together, and had a truly wonderful ride. Although I feel very sad right now, I am happy I have so many wonderful memories to sustain me in the years to come. Christopher and Damon, my heart is heavy for the two of you and the rest of the family. I know both of you know how much your mother loved you and how proud she was of the two of you. Al, my heart bleeds for you as well with the loss of your great love. Whenever you all feel sad, think of a happy memory of Lena. I know you have many to choose from. May God bless you and comfort you during this time of sadness.

I worked with Lena at K&L Gates for many years, our secretarial stations were next to each other for a few of those years. She was, indeed, a lady of style and sophistication. She adored and spoke very highly of her two sons, daughter-in-law, Kim, her grandchildren, Albert and other family members. You could tell she loved her family very much. She would on occasion give away her shoes, I guess after she tired of them or couldn't walk in those high heels any longer and, they were always the "Bomb" shoes. When I found out that we wore the same shoe size, I figured I just might have hit the shoe lottery. My prayers and condolences go out to her family. Lena is with the Lord now and couldn't be in a better place.

There is an old Russian proverb that states "how long will a person live" and the response "for as long as they are remembered". Lena will live on in our hearts and memory for years to come. I called her "Miss Honey Due" simply because whenever she wanted me to do something for her soriety or other events it was alway "Honey can you due me a favor" and being Ms. Lockett you could never refuse the lady with the infectious smile. The mold has been broken - Thank God for the opportunity to have had the pleasure of knowing you and calling you friend. The legecy of life which you have left will be cherished for years to come. I look forward to the "Great Resserection Renuion" which was promised by the Apostle Paul. Lena - thanks for the memories!

My prayers go up for Lena's family. May God comfort and keep you during this time of loss of your loved one. Lena meant a lot to me and others of our co-workers here at K&L Gates. She was truly missed when she retired but she came to visit when she was well!! Now, we will miss her visits!!! I have nothing but good memories of Lena and was saddened by her departure from this earth but I know she's in a better place now with no pain or sorrows, a place paved with sidewalks of gold!! RIP, Lena!!

Thank God for the life of Lena Lockett. I will always remember her words of wisdom, grace, dignity and love for family. When I first started here at K&L, Lena was the first to give me excellent advice concerning the ways of work at K&L. What's more important were her words of wisdom on the raising of my son, Daron, who is now 15. She truly enjoyed hearing about Daron and how the stories related to her two sons that are now grown, successful young men. She truly blessed me in the 9 years that I've known her. We shared a tremendous fondness for fine jewelry (LOL). TALK ABOUT A LADY WITH CLASS...THAT'S LENA! I will always love her and remember her and thank God for her being a part of the blanket of my life. PTL

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my dear friend, Lena. I worked with her for many years at K&L. In fact, when I started here, she was my mentor, my protector and my wise adviser. Whatever obtacle I encountered in my first years here, I was comforted by the fact that Lena would know how to handle it. She did not always agree with me and I truly appreciate that as well. She found the words to explain why while respecting my initial reaction. Lena lived an enviable life and I am so proud of her. Not to say she did not have struggles but she handled them with dignity and grace. I hope she knew how much she is loved, respected and emulated by members of her K&L family. I could never forget her.
