Mrs. Linda Mays Henderson, 59, of 827 McKenzie St., Petersburg, departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1954, to Bertha Stewart Mays and to the late Eddie Mays.
Linda was educated in the Petersburg Public School System. She worked several jobs but her most recent was at Econo-Food Service for several years as a cook.
Linda was also preceded in death by: her husband, Tyrone Henderson; a sister, Edna Wiggins; and her brothers, Eugene, Curtis, Elwood and Jerry Mays.
Left to cherish her precious memories: a devoted and loving mother, Bertha Stewart Mays; her children, Leona Mays (Mike), Tyrone Henderson and Latashia Henderson; grandchildren, Lasheika, Tony and Rashawn Mays, Daquan Walker, Tikala Moody, Tyliyah and Tyrone Henderson Jr.; great-grandchildren, Amari Mays, Jason Peterson Jr., Teahjhe Johnson and Harmoni Brown; brothers, Robert Thomas Mays of Chicago, Ill., Kenneth, Edward and Nelson Mays, all of Petersburg; sisters, Elaine Mays, Minnie Cole (Larry) and Brenda Rives, all of Petersburg; aunt, Thelma Stewart of Columbus, Ohio; uncles, John Stewart of Columbus, Ohio, and Paul Stewart of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends, among them devoted friends, Lonnie Williams, Robert Clarke and Wymond Mason.
Services for Mrs. Linda M. Henderson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Faith & Hope Temple Church of God In Christ, 1800 E. Washington St., Petersburg, Elder Herman Crockett Jr., pastor, eulogist. Interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
