Ms. Louise Baugh, 95, daughter of the late Robert and Louise Jones Baugh of Church Road, Chesterfield County, Va., the fourth of 12 children born July 19, 1914, the last of 12 to be transcending with her Heavenly Father.
Louise was educated in Chesterfield Public School System. Louise united with the Union Grove Baptist Church at an early age when she went to New York to live as a young adult. She united with Abyssinia Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Adane Clayton-Powell, now under the leadership of the Rev. Calvin Butts, where she attended until she came back to Virginia with declining health.
Louise was employed at the Harlem Hospital for many years as a dietary aide. She always said, "I'm A Cleaner, Not A Cook."
Louise was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, William "Mel" Baugh, Daniel "Dee-Dee" Baugh, Clifton "Cliff" Baugh, Albert Baugh, Catherine Baugh Adams, Hattie Virginia Baugh Hicks, Claiborne "Jimmy" Baugh, Cora Ann Baugh, Anna Reese Baugh Crump and Robert "Buck" Marshall Baugh and the oldest of them all, the baby, Kenneth "Kenny" Nathaniel Baugh, she was the last of the 12 to reach the astonishing age of 95.
Louise transcended late Monday night to be with her Heavenly Father Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at her residence where she resided with her very special niece, Ms. Joan Baugh Goode.
Now she's resting with Lord, she leaves to cherish her memories, five nieces, Joan Baugh-Goode (devoted), Brenda Baugh Bradley, Freda Diane Baugh, Pamela Baugh-Hairston and Uthai Hicks-Harris; one nephew, Royce Baugh Sr.; seven great-nieces; 10 great-nephews; 17 great-great-nieces; 12 great-great-nephews; one goddaughter, Gladys McLean; four cousins, Hattie Baugh Graves (Samuel), Irma Baugh Mason (Beverly) and Will Jones (Ann) and James Baugh (Virginia); three special devoted friends, the Rev. Carolyn Jones, Mr. Jessie Anderson and Susie Wiggins; a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Union Grove Baptist Church, 19111 Church Road, Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Joe Reeves, pastor, and the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Hicks, officiating. Interment to follow at Goode Family Cemetery, Chesterfield.
