On Wednesday, June 12, 2013, God stretched out His arms wide and welcome home another one of his angels. Our hearts were broken by the sudden passing of Mrs. Mable P. Tucker, 72. Her contagious smile, very kind heart and loving personality will be missed by all.

Mable Tucker was a faithful employee of Central State Hospital, where she retired after 26 years of service. She was a member of Third Baptist Church, Petersburg, Va., until her declining health.

Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her son, Maury Tucker; mother, Beatrice W. Pryor; and a brother, George Pryor Jr.

Mable leaves to cherish her loving memories, her devoted husband of 30 years, Herman Tucker Sr. of Ettrick, Va.; two daughters, Brenda Evans (James) and Ruby Tucker, both of Petersburg, Va.; one son, Herman Tucker Jr. of Petersburg, Va.; one granddaughter, Tracie Bellamy of North Carolina; and three grandsons, Raymond Tucker and Domonick Tucker, both of Petersburg, Va., and Robert Tucker of Colonial Heights, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Myrical Bellamy of North Carolina. She also leaves to cherish a beloved sister, Doris Pryor of Petersburg, Va.; a loving niece, Barbara Reese (Chris), and a great-nephew, Deven Terry, both of Petersburg, Va.; three brothers-in-law, Linwood Tucker (Mildred), Wilbur Tucker (Darlene) and David Tucker, all of Petersburg, Va.; a godfather, Samuel Poole of Petersburg, Va.; best friend, Mattie Stanbury of Ettrick, Va.; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the EMS, doctors, nurses and staff of Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.

A funeral service for Mrs. Mable V. Tucker will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Third Baptist Church, 550 Farmer St., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Leroy A. Cherry, pastor, eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the funeral establishment.
