Mamie Wyatt Obituary

Mrs. Mamie "Bug" Coleman Wyatt of 2535 Crestwood Ave., Petersburg, Va., formerly of Charlottesville, Va., departed this life Friday night, Dec. 18, 2009, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.

She was a native of Dinwiddie County, Va., and the daughter of the late Joseph and Susie Coleman.

She joined Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, at an early age. Later, she joined and served in a church in Hackensack, N.J. She worked as a LPN at Walnut Hill Convalescent Center for many years. Later, as an LPN, she retired from Atlantic City Hospital in Atlantic City, N.J.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ezra Wyatt and son, Vincent Scott.

She enjoyed attending the Mary Williams Senior Center where she had many friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Barbara Hardy (Benjamin) of Petersburg, Va., and Sylvia Woodfolk of Charlottesville, Va.; one brother, Earl Coleman of Syracuse, N.Y.; three sisters, Addie Simon (Willie) of Los Angeles, Calif., Ann Hurst (Walter) of Philadelphia, Pa., Mabel Chapman of Syracuse, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Toni Murdock (Shafig) of Phiadelphia, Pa., Je'Mar Hardy, La'Tiya Hardy. both of Petersburg, Va., Richard Woodfolk, Kourtney Woodfolk, both of Charlottesville, Va.; one great-grandchild, Ibrahim Murdock; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the chapel of Tucker's Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Brown officiating. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. Relatives and friends will assemble at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Benjamin Hardy, 2535 Crestwood Ave., Petersburg at 2:30 p.m. A video tribute may be viewed at the funeral home.
