Margaret Johnson Bervine, 78, formerly of 22900 Terminal Drive, Petersburg, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 12, 2013, peacefully at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law.

She was born in DeWitt, to the late Eddie and Lida Putney Johnson. At an early age, she confessed Christ and joined the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Dewitt. She was a graduate of Dinwiddie Training School, class of 1954. After graduation, she later moved to Washington and attended Howard University School of Nursing, where she became a licensed registered nurse.
While in nursing school, she met and married the late George E. Williams and traveled with him for several years living in several different countries including: Canada, Germany and Japan.
Upon relocating back to Richmond, she later remarried the late Rev. Junius W. Bervine. She continued her nursing career at MCV Hospital where she was dedicated employee until 2009 when health began to decline. She received several recognitions and achievements at MCV, including 2006 RN Excellence in Practice.
Margaret was devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, wife and sister. She was predeceased by three sisters, Ester Rose Gordan, Edna Maxcine Johnson and Alice Greene.
She leaves to cherish dear memories: two daughters, Penelope Anthony (Paul Anthony) and Adrianne Harper; five grandchildren, Dominique Bonner, Alex Anthony, Danielle Bonner, Amber Bonner, and Abraham Ross; two great-grandchildren, Aniyah Morgan and Lauryn Briggs; four nieces and nephews and their children, Ulysses Greene, Carol Hunter (Kelly and George Hunter), Gustavous Gordon (Gustavous Jr., Sharie and Kyle Gordon, and Glenessa Gordon (Nyla Gordon-Crocker); and her dear and closest friends and caregivers, Dorothy Wyatt, Lynn and Lynn Buckler, Georgia Johnson, Yasmine Harris, and Mrs. Williams, who faithfully supported her on this journey along with the Mt. Calvary Family and her classmates; and a host of other adopted children; and grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; friends; and neighbors who were all dear to her heart.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Dewitt, with the Rev. Gerald Q. Brandon, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Dr. Marian Elder, eulogizing. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m.
