Obituary Condolences

On June 09, 2018, Saturday our beloved Margaret Lewis Dabney went home to be with the Lord. Margaret was known by all as (sexy MJ) and was a graduate of the Petersburg High School class of 1986. While working at Sabraros's Pizza in Colonial Heights Va, she became manager. Margaret was also Employed with Alloy Palmer's in Richmond, Virginia, where she worked for several years and met her beloved husband, Steven Wayne Dabney. Margaret loved life, together her and Steven lived it to the fullest. After leaving Alloy Palmer's, Margaret was employed at Dupont for more than 20 years. After battling with breast cancer for five years Margaret was still a dedicated employee until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph A. Lewis Sr.; grandmother, Emily Giles, grandfather, Phouishouis Lewis,father-in-law, Wayne Lundy; aunts, Evelyn Fisher, Neal Haskins, Emily Vaughn, Addie Lewis, Carrie Bland, Lillie McDougal, Mary Cheatham and Bessie Ford; uncles Willie Lee Lewis, Phouishouis Lewis Jr. and Robert Dabney.

Margaret leaves to cherish her, husband of 20 years, Steven Wayne Dabney of Chester VA; two sons, Gemar Lewis (LaTonya) of South Chesterfield and Devonte Jones (Taneqwa) of Richmond, VA; mother, Dorothy M. Lewis of Chesterfield; three sisters, Lorraine Jones of North Carolina, Cynthia L.Taylor of N Chesterfield and Kimberly Peebles (Alvin) of Petersburg VA; four brothers, Atiyyah Muhammad (Rhonda) of Matoaca VA, Sylvester Jones (Juanita) of Prince George, VA, Joseph A. Lewis Jr. of Petersburg, VA and Anthony W. Lewis of Lawrenceville, VA; four grandchildren, Anaysia Williams, Amari Lewis, Daija Jones and Desirae Jones; a goddaughter, Faith Brown; aunts, Marilyn Green, Rebecca Hudgins and Daisey Johnson, all of Petersburg, VA and Rosetta Harris of North Carolina; mother-in-law, Brenda Starke (Wayne) of S. Chesterfield, VA; sister-in-law, Angie Allen (Darrell) of Dinwiddie, VA; brothers-in-law, Antonio Starke (Mironda) and Wayne Starke Jr.; a host of nieces, one devoted Sharisa Thomas (Michael) of Hopewell, VA, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, special friends, Pat Beasley and Donnell Dabney; devoted friends, Cheryl Trotter and Regina Bragby.

A special thanks to her Hospice Care Nurse Eduardo and the Bon Secure Hospice Care Unit; her doctor, Dr. William Ervin; her co Workers at Dupont.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2 PM, Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 418 Halifax St, Petersburg, Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Pastor, and Rev. Herbert Holly, II, officiating. Interment to follow in the Dabney Family Cemetery, Sutherland, VA. The family will be receiving other family and friends for a wake on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 6 to 7 PM in the Petersburg Chapel. Public viewing will be from 10 AM to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Funeral services have been entrusted to the professional staff of the Petersburg Chapel-Joseph M.
