Mrs. Mary Louise Charlotte, 85, of 11005 Old Stage Road, Prince George, entered eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Carol T. Charlotte; daughter, Catherine Jones Bailey; sister, Idell Allen; and brothers, John, Linwood, Robert, Bennie and James Jones.
She was born on July 24, 1928, to the late Henry B. and Bernice Jones. She served many years at Mount Hope Baptist Church as a nurse's aide. For a number of years she was a member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). She retired from John Randolph Medical Center as dietician with 22 years of service.
Mrs. Charlotte was a kind and generous woman. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and shopping.
Left to cherish her memory are: two sons and two daughters, Albert Jones of Prince George and Melvin Jones (Evalina) of Surry; Betty Saunders (Floyd) of Hopewell and Shirley Brabble (Cassell) of Chester; seven grandchildren who she loved, Angela (Bryant), Stacey, Cathy, Andra, Tracey (Cecil), Floyd Jr., and Jerquan; five great-grandchildren who she loved, Cecil, Cory, Khalil, Kylah and Kameron; five sisters, Earline Allen (Charles), Vernell Taylor, Lorraine Powell, Viola Parker (Keith), all of Hopewell and Irene Jones of Prince George; brother, Raymond Jones of Prince George; three sisters-in-law, Doris Tucker of Laurel, Md., Hester Jones of Prince George and Minnie Jones of Hopewell; brother-in-law, Arnold Charlotte (Ester) of Hopewell; host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends, among them a few that were really close, Louise Allen, Laura Mason, Adelle Ringer, Judy Charlotte (Preston) and Homer Crockett. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at Mount Hope Baptist, Prince George, pastor, the Rev. Melvin Lyttle, officiating and the Rev. Calvin E. Lewis, pastor, of Harrison Grove Baptist Church, eulogy. Interment to follow Morning Star Baptist Church. There will be a wake Wednesday, 6 to 7 p.m. at the Turner-Bland Chapel, Hopewell.
