Mary Nemetz Obituary

Mary Liptak Nemetz, 90, of Prince George, Va., passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2009, in Charlottesville, Va., after a short illness.

Born Sept. 11, 1919, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of John Liptak Sr. and Elizabeth Gala Liptak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Alfred Nemetz; a sister, Anne Teppo; and a brother, John Liptak Jr.

She leaves to honor her memory, Thomas D. And Gwen S. Nemetz of Midlothian, Va., Mary Jean and Howard B. Craddock of Charlottesville, Va., William H. Craddock of State College, Pa., and Brian A. Craddock of Charlottesville, Va.

Proud to be a first-eneration American, Mary was a devoted wife, mother and member of the Lutheran Church.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave., Hopewell, VA 23860, with a graveside service to follow 2 p.m. at Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell, Va. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
