Millard Hudson Obituary

Millard Larry Hudson, 86, of Hopewell, died on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Hopewell Health Care Center. He was born in Hopewell, Va. Mr. Hudson served in the US Army during World War II, a retired lab supervisor for Hercules Inc., a member of Liberty Baptist Church, VFW Post 637, an avid sportsman, father, son, friend and patriot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lowery and Alma Henley Hudson; his sister, Frances "Sis" Pearson; and the "love of his life", Rachel Lee Hawks Hudson. Surviving are his son, Walter Larry Hudson and wife, Marilyn, of Hopewell; granddaughter, Christine Marie Crone of Spotsylvania; three great-grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon Crone, and Kathryn Halloran; two great-great-grandchildren, Timothy and McKenzie Halloran; a niece, Marie Mayes of Hopewell; and a nephew, Frederick Mayes and wife, Betty, of Chester.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, in the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Phil Andrews, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 3808 Woodlawn St., Hopewell, VA 23860. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com.
