Nancy Kail Obituary

Nancy Ferris Kail, 93, of Lynchburg, Va., formerly of Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009.

Born in Petoskey, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Pliny B. and Alice Robertson Ferris. She was a graduate of Ohio State University and a retired elementary school teacher with Petersburg Public Schools.

Mrs. Kail is survived by her husband, retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ira Joseph Kail; sons, Dr. James J. "Jim" Kail, DDS, and wife, Joan, of Chesapeake, Va., and Frederick B. "Bo" Kail, MSN, and wife, Liz, of Lynchburg, Va.; grandchildren, Kim Armentrout and husband, Darrin, of Midlothian, Va., Jeff Kail and wife, Denise, of Chesapeake, Va., Kristin Stowe and husband, David, of Richmond, Va., Nancy Freerksen and husband, Brian, of Lynchburg, Va., Joe Kail and wife, Leana, of Lynchburg, Va., and John Kail of Macon, Ga.; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon on Saturday, Dec. 5, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 110 Union St., Petersburg, with the Rev. Rick Greenwood, rector, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 564, Petersburg, VA 23804. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
