Phyllis Christine Owen, 89, of Hopewell, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at her residence. She was a native of Chesterfield County and the daughter of the late William Thomas and Mary Lue Henshaw Webster.

She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Petersburg.

Mrs. Owen is survived by: her children, William Rogers Ellis of Dinwiddie, Mary Ann Gibbs of Dinwiddie, Bernard Rodgers Ellis Jr. of Hopewell, and Terry Glenn Ellis of Hopewell; sisters, Lavenia Coleman of Petersburg, Violet W. Johnston of Dinwiddie, and Joyce W. Joyner of Prince George; a brother, Charles Webster of Florida; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 300 Poplar Drive, Petersburg, with Pastor Brandon Koleda, officiating.
