Raymond I. "Perk" Perkinson, 86, of Charles City, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013.

Mr. Perkinson was the founder of Oakwood Monument Co., Richmond, and was still active in the business and worked every day along side his son Christy, who continues on with the company.

He is survived by three sons, Christy Perkinson, Rodney Perkinson, both of Matoaca, and Mark Perkinson and wife, Terri, of Prince George; grandchildren, Mindy, Randy, Stacey, Amy, Buddy, Justin and Meagan; five great-grandchildren; special dear friend, Lois Pence; friend, Debbie; daughter in-law Lisa; numerous friends and family.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in East Matoaca Cemetery, Matoaca, with the Rev. David Prather officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
