Robert Massenburg Obituary
He was born Nov. 7, 1946, to Rosa Massenburg and the late Robert Massenburg Sr. At an early age he joined the Galilee Baptist Church, Stony Creek, Va. He was employed with and retired from Bryant Construction Inc.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Massenburg Sr., and brother, Charles "Bo" Massenburg.
Left to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Jannie Moore Massenburg; two daughters, Wilnette and Caroline Massenburg of Prince George, Va.; mother, Rosa Massenburg of Stony Creek, Va.; brother, Percy Massenburg (Sallie) of Stony Creek, Va.; sister, Delores McKeever of Alexandria, Va.; two grandchildren, Tionna and Tyquan Massenburg of Prince George, Va.; two aunts, Marie Walker (Harold) of Dinwiddie, Va., and Bernice Potts of Stony Creek, Va.; uncle-in-law, William Jarret of Stony Creek, Va.; four aunts-in-law, Sarah Atkins (Robert) of Carson, Va., Flossie Foster of Jacksonville, Fla., Corine Nelson (Julius) of South Carolina and Globet Pettaway (Walter) of Prince George, Va.; six sisters-in-law, Brenda Rowlette (George) of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mary Massenburg, Aleesha Blue (Tyrone), Margaret Johnson (Curtis), Mary Chambliss (James) and one devoted, Doretha Moore; brother-in-law, Kenneth Moore (Cynthia). all of Stony Creek, Va.; devoted friend, Frank Bates (Blanche); three devoted nieces, Felita Boone, Teresa Moore and Vickie Boone, all of Stony Creek, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, two devoted, Antonio Moore and Clinton Boone, cousins and family friends.
Funeral service for Mr. Massenburg will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Galilee Baptist Church, 12392 Lee Ave., Stony Creek, Va., with the Rev. Linwood James officiating. Interment will follow in the Caple-Robb Family Cemetery. Family may be contacted by calling 434-246-9265.
