Mrs. Ruth Anna "Tiny" Malden of 524 James Road, Petersburg, Va., entered into eternal rest on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at her residence.

Ruth was born in Germany on Aug. 26, 1955, to the late Ernest Malden and Ruth Wiggins. Ruth was formerly employed at Southside Virginia Training Center as a Food Service worker. She was a member at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

She was a mother of many, the life of any party, and a counselor to all. She opened her heart and her home to anyone that needed her. She will be greatly remembered as "Ma Tiny".

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Delvez Ruffin and an aunt, Sylvia Munday.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Larry Wortham; two sisters, Ernestine Vassor of Petersburg, Va., and Dorita Johnson of Gaithersburg, Md.; one brother, Ernest Malden of Richmond, Va.; one uncle, Leroy Jones (Wanda) of Petersburg, Va.; her loving children, Autoria Ruffin (Larry) of Atlanta, Ga., Sylvia Newby (Terry) of Woodbridge, Va., and Andre Malden (Markila) of Petersburg, Va.; three godchildren, Jan Malone, Tonesha Jackson, and Ruth Fulton; eight grandchildren, Mahoghany, Dimarte, Dekarri, Tequante, Tavarea, Desean, Andre and Amarie; three great-grandchildren, Kyrell, Amir, and Amira; three nieces, Jenice, Alnissa and Yolanda; two great-nieces and three great-nephews; devoted friends, Andre Ruffin, Audrey Allen, Sharon Ware, Charlene Gibbs and the entire 36-Family, and a host of cousins, and friends.

Services for Mrs. Ruth A. Malden will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at the chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va. Interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.

Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble 10:30 a.m. at the funeral establishment.

The family will assemble 10 a.m. at 524 James Road, Apartment 2, Petersburg, Va., the day of the service.
