Ruth W. Burt

Ruth W. Burt, 84, of Carson, passed away on Nov. 18, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Violet Cline Wheeler and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Burt III; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Burt. Ruth was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church in Carson, a member of the Homemakers Club, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her sister, Mabel Sebera; a daughter, Linda B. Jackson and husband, Larry; two sons, Steven H. and Michael S. Burt; four grandchildren, Chris Jackson, Ellen J. Miller and husband, Charles; Teresa B. Stuckey and husband, Jason, Kelly B. Hughes and husband, Chris; two great-grandchildren, William Cole and Georgia Lynn Stuckey.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, in Salem United Methodist Church, 19312 Templeton Road, Carson, with the Rev. Jimmy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
