Shirley Gholston Obituary

Ms. Shirley Ann Gholston, of 2101 Berry St., Hopewell, entered into eternal rest Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at her residence.

She was born in Surry County to James Gholston and the late Shirley Jones Gholston. She lived most of her early years in Surry County before moving to Hopewell.

Surviving are: her children, Antoinette Gholston, John, II, Joshua, Jonathan, Armani and Jaili Kelly; six sisters, Mrs. Ruth Shaw (Carl) of Spring Grove, Mrs. Sarah Green (Darryl) of Petersburg, Mrs. Nancy Gilliam of Prince George, Mrs. Janet Smith (Elmer) of Spring Grove, Mrs. Rosa Williams (Nathan) of Hopewell and Ms. Lucy Whitehead of Hopewell; four brothers, Nathaniel Jones, James Gholston, Jr., Edward Gholston and Kevin Gholston of Hopewell; one sister-in-law, Theresa Gholston; seven aunts, four uncles, two great-aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at the chapel of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell, with Elder Isaac Holmes officiating. The interment will be in Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery, Prince George. The family will assemble at 1038 Langston Park, Hopewell, at noon.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of Turner-Bland Funeral Home Hopewell, the Rev. William N. Bland Jr., funeral director; www.blandenterprisesinc.com.
