On Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, God saw fit to call home one of His angels, Ms. Shirley Ann Turner Jenkins. She was born on May 3, 1958, to the late Clarence and Annie Turner in Long Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Annie Turner, and a sister-in-law, Wanda Turner. Shirley will truly be missed by her beloved family and close friends.

She was a dedicated employee of Fort Lee Lodging for 27 years. There she developed friendships with her Fort Lee Lodging crew.

She leaves behind to remember her precious memories, her spouse, Willie Ellis; three wonderful children, Katrina Jenkins (Rashone Walker) of Petersburg, Va., Barbara Young (Charles Young III) of Colonial Heights, Va., and Clarence Darnell Jenkins (Ivory Morris) of the home; a brother, Clarence Turner Jr. of Newport News, Va.; two sisters, Jeanetta Echols of Atlanta and Shelia Wilkes of Fayetteville, N.C.; five handsome grandsons, Charles, Cyair and Cristian Young, all of Colonial Heights, Va., Jaden and Xavien Walker, both of Petersburg, Va.; 10 nieces, Teisha Morgan, Jamequa Dobie, Katrina Flowers, Tasha Ulmer, Darissa Johnson, Bridget Crawley, Zana Hart, Kala and Kennedi Burwick, and Kiera Thompson; four nephews, Cedarian Smith, John Jr. and Christopher "Mufah" Hart and Nylan Robinson; two best-friends, Loreta Wyche, Birgit Nowlin; several close friends, Traci Everette, Jackie Evans, Willie Mae White, Jean Harrington, Helen Sloan (her second mom), Jewel Green and the Berkely Manor neighbors, and a host of the family and loved ones from Ohio and Georgia.

A service of love and remembrance for Ms. Shirley T. Jenkins will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Dr. Phillip Williams, pastor of Royal Baptist Church, Petersburg, Va.

The family will assemble 10:30 a.m. at the funeral establishment the day of the services.
