Thomas Taylor Obituary
He was the son of the late Donnie and Virgie Jackson Taylor, and was preceded in death by a sister, Nanci T. DiRienzo. Thomas was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #882.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Cathy D. Taylor; son, Thomas G. Taylor II and wife, Heidi of Matoaca; stepdaughter, Cynthia D. Lang of Chester; four grandchildren, Thomas Vincent Bohannon, Halee Katelynn Taylor, Thomas Griffin Taylor and Preston Garner Lang; brother, Donald W. Taylor and wife, Doris Jean, of Hopewell; sister, Faye T. Woodfin and husband, T.G. Jr., of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. David Prather officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Tommy was a dear friend and neighbor. I will remember our activities together, forever. He knew how to live life to the fullest. I will keep his family in my prayers.

He will be missed! We have known Tommy since we first joined the Legion. He used to always buy our daughter a soda. He was such a nice man and we will always remember his smile and his laugh. We could hear that laugh and know he was close by. We wish your family peace during this difficult time.
