Mr. Thomas Lee Hall Sr., 65, affectionately known as "Pop" or "Tom Lee," of Petersburg, Va., formerly of McKenney, Va., entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2014, surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness.

Thomas was born on May 17, 1948, to the late Della and James Hall. He was a long time employee of Vulcan Materials in Chester, Va., and a member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church, McKenney, Va.
Pop loved spending time outdoors and looked forward to gardening each year. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Anyone who knew Pop knew he loved life. He loved to laugh and loved a good joke. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Pop will surely be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Doris Hall; four children Thomas "T.J" Jr. (Janaia), Nichole (Steve), Sondra (Renard) and Deborah (Phillip); grandchildren, Dakari, Thomas Taron, Terrell, Mikel, Amiya, Monte, Jared and Alexandria; sisters, Cindy Hall, Alice Mason, Delphine Hall and Laura Jones; brothers, James Hall and Clarence Chambliss; two uncles, Frank Coleman, and one devoted uncle, John Sidney Hall; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Dabney (Charles), Connie Jones (Laura), Charles Jones and Leon Jones; numerous nieces and nephews, and other extended family members. Pop also leaves many friends, including one devoted friend, Darrell Mayes.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2014, at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church, McKenney, with the pastor, the Rev. Carlos Jordan, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will assemble at the residence at 1 p.m. on the day of the service for the procession. Public viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Petersburg Chapel. Please omit all food items.
