Valerie Hill Obituary

Ms. Valerie Hill entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009.

She was born on March 9, 1971. Valerie was a graduate of Sussex Central High School in 1989.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her parents, Mr. Elisha P. Hill III and Ms. Christine Hill of Waverly; a sister, Mrs. Stephanie V. Gray and a brother-in-law, Mr. Frank Mandel Gray; one niece, Tia A. Gray; one nephew, Mandel S. Gray, all of Charleston, S.C.; two grandmothers, Mrs. Estelle Gay and Mrs. Mildred Hill, both of Wakefield; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held noon Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Mars Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, Wakefield, with the Rev. Benjamin F. Petway, pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Booker T. Cemetery, Wakefield. Family and friends will assemble 11:15 a.m. at the residence one hour prior to the service. Ms. Hill may be viewed 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Peace-Bland.

Services have been entrusted to Peace-Bland Funeral Home, Waverly, Mr. James I. Gay funeral director.

I went to school with Valerie and I can't understand why she had to leave so soon she will be missed by all. I pray that the family get through the pain of the loss of such a wonderful person.
