Victor Pallay Obituary

Victor Paul Pallay, 87, of Colonial Heights, Va., died Nov. 30, 2009. He was the son of the late John and Anna Pallay and husband of the late Louise Pallay. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 182 in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Pallay retired from PRR/Conrail after 44 years of service. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights, Va., and a former member of East Linden United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Pallay was preceded in death by his brothers and sister.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Henderson and husband, Ed; son, Joe Pallay; grandchildren, Amy Ernst and husband, Matt, James J. Henderson and wife, Brooke, and Katie M. Henderson; great-grandchildren, Tyler Samuel Ernst, Anna Elizabeth Ernst and Andrew Dylan Ernst; sisters-in-law, Rose Pallay and Mary Jane Pallay; brother-in-law, James Hart and wife, Lucy; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio, with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Colonial Heights Fire and EMS, P.O. Box 3401, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Dear Vicki,Ed and Joe,

I am sorry to hear of Vic's passing.He and Lou were the best next door neighbors. Vic had one great sense of humor and Lou could grow anything planted in the ground. They are together again. My thoughts and prayer are with you.
