Wesley Lee Hamlin Jr., "Monkey", 52, of Waverly, Va., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.

"Monkey" was born to the late Annie B. Hamlin and David A. Bonner of Waverly, Va., on Aug. 2, 1961. He attended Sussex County Public Schools and served in the United States Army.
Mr. Hamlin was preceded in death by three brothers.
Wesley is survived by his son, Lamar Coleman; companion for over 20 years, Kathleen Coleman, and the father figure for Nickea Coleman, all of Waverly, Va.; four sisters, Ethel Barrow of Prince George, Va., Delores Harris (Charles) of Matoaca, Va., Ann Hamlin Beale of Waverly, Va., and Gloria Bonner of Petersburg, Va; three brothers, Thomas Early (Helena) of Boynton Beach, Fla., Michael Bonner of Richmond, Va., and Jeffery Bonner (LaRue) of Petersburg, Va.; six nieces, Cheryl Taylor of Prince George, Va., Demetria and Deidre Early of Hopewell, Va., Shawnta Woodley and Katisha Hamlin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Linda Bonner; five nephews, Darrell Taylor and Terrance Vaughan of Prince George, Va., Maurice Williams of Waverly, Va., Shabazz Bonner and Mike Bonner; a host of great-nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services for "Monkey" will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Rose of Sharon Apostolic Church, 429 Elm St., Waverly, Va.; Bishop Tyrone Harper, pastor. Interment will follow in the Waverly Cemetery.
