William Irving Obituary

William Emory Irving, 79, of Hopewell, went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 23, 2009.

He was the son of the late Willie and Lillian Stokes Irving, and attended Woodlawn Baptist Church since 1980.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Ann South Irving; daughters, Patricia Irving Steele and husband, Harry, of Prince George, Sandra Irving Rhodes and husband, Robert, of Amelia, Cynthia Victoria Hays and husband, Jay, of Hopewell; sons, Gene Douglas Irving and wife, Theresa, of Bracey, David Glenn Irving of Buckingham Cunty; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, H. Paul Irving amd wife, Marian; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, in Woodlawn Baptist Church, Hopewell, with Pastor Ken Hendricks and Pastor Dawson Bailey officiating. A visitation will follow the funeral service. Interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, Cartersville Cemetery, Carterville, Va. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
