Mrs. Elsie Mae Jackson Burrow, 81, of 2725 Tinstree Drive, South Chesterfield, departed this life on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Retreat Hospital, Richmond.

Elsie was born on Aug. 5, 1931, to the late Frank and Nellie Davis Jackson, and she attended the Sussex County Public Schools.

She was a retired bus driver after 34 years of dedicated service.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Thomas Burrow; siblings, Elnora Wyatt, Inell McGee, Dorothy Smith, Richard, Junius, Frank Lee, James, Henry, Calvin and Edmund Jackson.

Left to cherish her memories are: her son, Robert "Fish" Burrow (Nancy) of Clarksville, Tenn.; daughter, Linda D. Burrow (Charlie Jackson) of South Chesterfield; four grandchildren, Danika Maclin of South Chesterfield, Tyrice Burrow (Shawnta) of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Carlos Burrow of Murfreesboro, N.C., Jamal Gatlin (Andrea) of Chatman, Japan; eight great-grandchildren, La'Kendra Burrow of Shelby, Miss., Laila D. "Tink" Maclin and Darius Burrow of South Chesterfield, Shania Roy, Alaiyah and Victoria Burrow of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Javlon Gatlin and Charlyne Joy of Chatman, Japan; two foster children, David Bolling of Gastonia, N.C., and Monica C. Coleman of Prince George; sister, Geraldine Bolling (Alvin Graves) of Hopewell; five sisters-in-law, Jeraldine and Hazel Jackson of Waverly, Cherlie Ann Jackson of Hopewell, Eunice Burrow and Sandra Jackson of Richmond; one brother-in-law, John "Bubba" Wyatt of Stony Creek; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, the Rev. William N. Bland Jr., pastor; the Rev. Lamont Hobbs, officiating. Family is receiving friends at the residence of her daughter, 2725 Tinstree Drive, South Chesterfield.
