God in His infinite wisdom called to his heavenly home retired Sgt. 1st Class Ronnie Michael Wright at Sentara Northern Virginia Hospital in Woodbridge, Va., on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012.

Ronnie was born in Carson, Va., to the late Leslie L. and Lourene P. Wright. He was baptized at an early age at Providence Baptist Church, Prince George, Va. He attended Dinwiddie County Public Schools and after graduation enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving around the world, including Operation Desert Storm.

Ronnie received numerous awards and medals for his outstanding service. After retiring from active duty in 1993, he joined the Army National Guard. Ronnie began his second career working at the Fort Belvoir Golf Course, where he was employed of over 17 years. For over 20 years, he made the Northern Virginia area his home.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John T. Wright.

Left to cherish his memories are, his wife, Lisa Little-Wright of Woodbridge, Va.; son, Michael Wright of Fredericksburg, Va.; brothers, Lester L. Wright (Joyce) of Petersburg, Va., and Wayne R. Wright (Connie ) of Carson, Va.; sisters, Mattie W. Goode of Chesterfield, Va., and Birtee D. Wright of Petersburg, Va.; aunts, Elsie Bennett and Doris Parker of Carson, Va.; uncles, Ronnie Parker of Kingston, N.Y., and Robert Skelton of Petersburg, Va.; brothers-in-law, James H. Little II of Woodbridge, Va., Minister Rodney J. Little of Pennsylvania, Ronald J. Little (Marsha) of Spotsylvania, Va.; sisters-in-law, Colonel Debra Little of Pennsylvania and Tina L. Foster (David) of Stafford, Va.; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers, including Frazier Lyle, Antoine Stewart, Janet Tyrus, Phoumy Chamountry and Connie Andrea.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Ames Funeral Home, 8914 Quarry Road, Manassas, Va. Interment to follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
