In the early morning of Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, God extended his loving hands to our beloved sister, Carrie B. Truly Boyd 92, of 1301 Concord Drive, Petersburg.

She received her education in the Disputanta school system. She moved to New York and was employed with the state for over 20 years. After retirement, she returned home and lived a joyous life until her health declined.
Carrie accepted Christ into her life at an early age at Providence Baptist Church and served in the capacity as a missionary aide. Later, she joined Good Shepherd Baptist Church serving as member on missionary and senior missionary.
She was born Sept. 11, 1921, to the late Author and Josephine Truly.
Left to cherish her precious memories are: one devoted sister and caregiver, Josephine Truly Webb; two brothers, Waverly Truly and Samuel Truly (Patricia); best friend and confident, Ronald Smith; special friend and like a sister, Deloise; one nephew, Aubrey Webb of the home; great-nephew; host of other nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
Homegoing service will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, the Rev. Jeffrey Reaves Sr., pastor, officiating. The interment will follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Cemetery.
The family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. at the residence on the day of service.
