LeMoyne Bland Ward, 74, of 1043 South Park Drive, Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at the Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

LeMoyne was born on July 3, 1939, to the late Thea W. Bland and Alease Pride Bland. She was a 1957 graduate of Southside High School.

She joined Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Sutherland, at a very early age. LeMoyne later moved her membership to the Springfield Baptist Church, Church Road, Va.

LeMoyne was a former employee of Brown and Williamson and Carter Wallace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thea W. Bland and Alease Pride Bland; her siblings, Alma Johnson Bonner, Thea H. Bland, Morris F. Bland Sr., Bruce L. Bland Sr., David M. Bland Sr., George M. Bland Sr., Marion Bland Freeman, Geraline Bland Harmon and Melzetta Bland (her twin).

She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

Left to cherish her precious memory are: her daughter, Patrice Ward McDaniel (Trini); grandchildren, Glenishia Pulliam, Sierra McDaniel, Trini McDaniel Jr., Trine' McDaniel and Trinika McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Ke'Veon Green, R'Hauna McDaniel, R'Haun McDaniel. KeWona Robinson and Jhase Wiggins; former husband, Herman L. Ward; sister-in-law, Louise W. Bland; brother-in-law, William Freeman; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; among them two devoted nephews, Bruce L. Bland Jr. and David M. Bland Jr.; devoted nieces, Doris Murdock, Belinda Edwards, Nishia L. Edwards, Margaret Simmons, Karen D. Bland, Felicia Hubbard and Janiya Prosise; devoted cousins, Patricia R. Lee and her family, and Nannie Bailey; several devoted and loving friends who were very close to her heart, Colleen and Kenny Evans, Lillie W. Walker, Patricia Chappel, Judy Brent, Gwendolyn Ellis, Ryan Thomas, Catherine H. Bland, Jane Lundy, Christine Hartwell, Janice Diggs, Ellen and Calvin Boone, the Springfield Church family and the staff at Dinwiddie Health and Rehabilitation.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. Interment will follow in the Bland Family Cemetery, Sutherland; Dr. Herbert Anderson offciating and the Rev. Dr. Antonio A. Tucker eulogizing.
