Mrs. Imagene Garris Roaché, 61, of Chester, transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, after a period of illness.

Imagene was born Sept. 20, 1952, in Southampton, Va., to the late Beulah Mae Jackson and Howard Garris Sr. She was preceded in death by her one and only son, Isaac C. "Neil" Garris.
Imagene accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Petersburg, until her illness.
After graduation from high school, she attended John Tyler Community College. Imagene furthered her nursing education and receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University.
She worked for Hiram Davis, MCV, Health South and Hopewell Convalescent Center where she enjoyed helping people.
Left to cherish her precious memory: her loving and devoted husband, Calvin R. Roaché Sr; one brother, Howard Garris Sr.; one sister, Vanessa Thompson; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Garris; three stepsons, Frederick L. Roaché, Calvin R. Roaché Jr, (Debra), and Richard D. Roaché (Pam); one stepdaughter, Amy M. Roaché; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Miles, Lillian Weaver (Albert) and Peggy Anderson; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A homegoing service will be held 12 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road; the Rev. Jeffrey L. Reaves Sr., will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery, Prince George. Family and friends will assemble 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bland Funeral Home, Petersburg.
