Mrs. Eunice Drucilla McDonald, 86, departed this life Monday, March 10, 2014, at John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell, after an extended illness. She was born to the late Arthur and Mary Chancellor Timmons of Florence, S.C.

Eunice was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church, Hopewell, and served as a member of the Missionary Ministry. She was a retired childcare provider, who loved and cared for many children in Hopewell area. This was her passion, caring and loving anyone in her presence.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by five brothers; four sisters; daughter, Emma Wheat Scamman; and granddaughter, Vonda Kaye Wheat.
Left to cherish her memory is one devoted daughter, Annie Harris; son, James McDonald Jr; grandsons, Virgil Harris (Roxchel), Michael Harris (Demetria) and Fredrio Harris, all of Hopewell, DeAngelo McDonald (Tonnie), of Washington, Antonio McDonald of Maryland, Donnell Wheat; granddaughters, Felecia Gilmore (Gary), Bridgette McDonald of Texas, Lena Evans of Texas, Sharren Matthews (Joe) of North Carolina, Tiffany Scamman of Chester and Shanita Garrison of Washington; seven great-grandsons; 14 great-granddaughters; two very devoted friends, Helen Wyche and Deacon Jean Hawkins; host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Union Baptist Church, Hopewell; the Rev. Dr. Sylvia Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery, Prince George. The family will assemble 10 a.m. at 1822 Sunnyside Ave., Hopewell, and family may be contacted at 804-691-8312.
