Mr. Ramon Lonnell Brown, affectionately known as "Big Cat," 39, of 404 St. Matthew St., Petersburg, quietly entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1974, to Miss Florine Brown. Ramon joined Good Shepherd Baptist Church at an early age where he sung in the Young Sounders. Ramon was employed by the Petersburg Parks and Leisure Services for six years as a groundskeeper.

Ramon was a faithful Redskins fan and he like spending time on Sunday watching the game with his mother who is also a Redskins fan. Ramon also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews whom he loved and they loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arby and Esther Brown.

Ramon leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Miss Florine Brown of Petersburg; two brothers, Pastor Barry O. Brown Sr. (Avis) of North Chesterfield, and his twin, Reginald D. Brown (Tracey) of Petersburg; three sisters, Joyce L. Brown of Petersburg, Sheryl E. Adams (Lorenzo) of Chesterfield, and Patrice A. Allen (John) of Petersburg; a devoted companion, Latasha Hyman; five nieces, Kiara Johnson and Destini Brown, both of Petersburg, Jasmine Adams of Chesterfield, Dyamond Brown of Maryland, and Elana McLean of Alabama; four nephews, Barry Brown Jr., Kevin Johnson, and Aubrey Brown, all of Petersburg, and Reginald Washington of North Carolina; two great-nephews, Ethan McLean of Alabama and Kamari Johnson of Petersburg; two aunts, Christine Parson and Rosa Lee Williams, both of Petersburg; four uncles, Robert Brown (Yvonne), Arby Brown Jr., Sherman Brown (Janet) and John Henry Brown, all of Petersburg; a host of cousins; and a several devoted friends and families just to name a few, the Parham family, Ford family and Byrd family, Joseph "Chopper" Byrd Sr., Daniel "Boone" Harris, William "Boo" Myrick, Bernard Tervalon, Eric Walker, Dametria Wilson, Kashawnty Byers, Larry Bonner, Martini Lewis, Terrell Lewis, Marian Harris, and William "Big Country" Wilkerson and Dee, all of Petersburg.

Services for Mr. Ramon Lonnell "Big Cat" Brown will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Good Shephard Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, the Rev. Jeffrey L. Reaves Sr., pastor, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.

Wake services will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at the funeral establishment.
