Derrick Alan Morelock, 48, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014. He worked at Honeywell for 26 years, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Derrick was a member of Colonial Hunt Club where he served as past president, was a loving man and father and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by: his parents, Jimmy R. and Barbara Summers Morelock; uncle, Charles D. "Sonny" Summers; wife, Lisa Morelock; daughter, Traci Morelock; brothers, Jimmy D. Morelock and his fiancé, Toni, Mitchell Morelock and his girlfriend, Pam; nephew, Cory Morelock and his brother, Bryce Phillips; nephew, John Morelock and his fiancé, Elizabeth Carr; numerous extended family; friends; and close personal outdoorsmen.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
