Mr. William A. Freeman (Billy), 76, of 1102 E. Booker Circle, Petersburg, Va., passed on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Freeman was born on April 30, 1937, to the late Alexander H. Freeman Sr. and the late Alice Freeman Howard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Bland Freeman.
Mr. Freeman was a graduate of the 1956 class of Peabody High School and retired from Honeywell in Hopewell, Va., after 30-plus years of service. He was a former member of the Benedict Civic Club and attended the Senior Program at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Petersburg for several years.
Mr. Freeman was a long time member of First Baptist Church-Harrison Street, Petersburg, Va. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories a daughter, Bonita R. Freeman of Petersburg; son, William A. Freeman Jr. of Dinwiddie; and a sister, Alice F. Creighton of Henrico; three grandchildren, Karen Freeman of Henrico, William A. Freeman III and Niyah Freeman of Chesterfield, Va.; a sister-in-law Louise W. Bland; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews and devoted friends, Roosevelt Washington and Eric Terrel.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday April 25, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 236 Harrison St., Petersburg; the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Tillman, pastor, officiating; the Rev. Dr. Antonio A. Tucker Sr. eulogizing. Interment will follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
