Clarence Ray Hensley, 82, of Hopewell, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014.

Born in Campbell County, Va., he was the son of the late Robert W. and Martha Hackworth Hensley. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Hensley, four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Hensley served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, retired as a supervisor from Hercules after 30-plus years of service, and was a longtime member of West End Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Katrina Y. Flores, Renee H. Sisson and her husband, Greg; five grandchildren, Manuel Flores, Melissa Green, Mandi Lou Bulifant, Ashleigh Jones, Gavin Sisson; three great-grandchildren, Isabelle Flores, Ethan and Keeley Spain; four sisters, Virginia Tweedy, Agnes Anderson, Christine Burley, Penny Hensley; two brothers, James and Kenneth Hensley; numerous other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, and a celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, both to be held at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at
