Mr. Edward Lewis "Turk" Robinson Sr., 83, of 1406 Grant Ave., Petersburg Va., departed this life on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at home. He was the son of the late James Andrew Robinson Sr. and Rosa Smith Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was a faithful member of the New First Baptist Church, Petersburg for many years. He enjoyed singing with the Male Choir.
After retiring from his job as an institutional chauffeur at Central State Hospital, he started working as a driver for Phoenix-N-Peace.
Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his siblings: sister, Geraldine R. Lee, and brother, James A. Robinson Jr.
Left to cherish his memories: wife, Virgie Yates Robinson for over 60 years; five children, Gail R. Allen-Martin (Donald) of Hopewell, Edward Jr. of Chesterfield, Avis Robinson of Chesterfield, Bryant Robinson of Petersburg and Rickey Robinson (Veronica) of Clinton, Md.; grandchildren, Andrae Kirkland of Florida, Alexandra Pegram of Petersburg, LaeDante Vaughan of Washington State, Javahn Lockett of Texas, Kennedy Robinson of Maryland; stepgrandchildren, Keenan Smith and Kendrick Smith, both of Maryland; one uncle, Elder Eddie Smith Sr.; host of nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Mr. Edward L. "Turk" Robinson Sr. will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, at New First Baptist Church, 1346 Grant Ave., Petersburg; the Rev. Curtis Johnson, pastor, officiating, and Dr. Deborah Burton, eulogizing. Interment will follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
The family will be assembling 12:30 p.m. at the church.
