Mr. James Nathan Robinson, affectionately called, "Bubba," was born Jan. 14, 1968, to Idella Robinson and Clemetine Robinson. Bubba quietly departed this life to be with the Lord in eternal rest and peace on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at his residence, 342 Summit St., Petersburg, Va.
Bubba gave his life to Christ at an early age at Marmora Baptist Church in Sutherland, Va. Bubba was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Mary Alice Pride, and James and Ella Mae Robinson; a sister, Gail A. Robinson-Snowden; a nephew, Jamell E. Snowden; and two uncles, William E. Pride and Joe Nathan Pride.
Bubba was educated in the Petersburg City Public Schools and at the Dinwiddie County Public Schools, where he graduated in 1986. After graduation he joined the United States Army and served his term. Through his lifetime, he worked several different jobs, Virginia Department of Transportation, Hon's and the steel plant.
Bubba was a fun-loving, goodtime person always expressing his love to his family and friends.
Bubba leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted mother, Idella Robinson; father, Clemetine Robinson; two sons, Latheus Nathan Robinson and Lamar De'Angelo Robinson; three grandsons, Lay'mone Robinson, Lamarí Robinson and Kémari Robinson, all of Petersburg, Va.; the mother of his two sons, Lisa Robinson-Walker of Petersburg, Va.; four uncles, Robert A. Pride (Mattie) of San Antonio, Elder David Pride Sr. (Elder Meichell), Isaac Robinson and Abraham Robinson ,all of Petersburg, Va.; six aunts, Mary Gurley (Ervin), JoAnn Clayton (Melvin), Martha Ann Hobson (Raymond), Mary Ray, Loraine Jordan and Patricia Robinson, all of Petersburg, Va.; nephews, Pharrell Robinson, Derrick Robinson and Devon Robinson; great-uncles, Albert Neal and Aaron Neal; great-aunts, Liza Gholson and Lula Lucas; devoted cousins, Silas McKensie Jr. (Boo), Mark McKensie (Lil Bubba), Michael McKensie (Stump), Monique Pride-Jones, Teresa Neal-Williams and Aileen Neverson; devoted friend, Ronnie Clanton, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. James N. Robinson will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Victor McLaughlin, pastor of Marmora Baptist Church, Church Road, Va., eulogist. Interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
Wake services will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the funeral establishment.
