Alma D. Footman-Brooks, 71, of 249 Perch Drive, Fayetteville, N.C., began her eternal life on May 20, 2014, in her warm comfortable home as she would have desired.

She was born Nov. 30, 1942, in Hopewell, Va. She was a dedicated homemaker for 21 years while being married to Lawrence C. Footman Sr., during the time he performed his military obligation. While being a stay-at-home mother she managed to work for Owens Cleaners for a period of time.
She was preceded in death by her second loving husband, Gregory Brook; mother, Christine P. Wynn-Edenburgh; father, Jasper Wynn Sr.; stepfather, James M. Edenburgh; two brothers, Isaiah H. Wynn and James C. Wynn.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, Corliss D. Footman, Carmelita Delauder (Richard), all of York, Pa., Ylando M. Footman, Loretta A. McKenzie (William- Fiance'), one son, Lawrence C. Footman Jr. all of Fayetteville, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Nellie Brown (Wayne) of Hampton; and two brothers, Morris Edenburgh and Jasper Wynn (Mary), both of Petersburg; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends (Robin Campbell, family friend).
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, Interment will follow in Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Dinwiddie.
