Frances (Fran) Shirley Koch Oestreich, 84, of Hopewell, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 23, 2014. She was born in Lost Creek, Pa., and has been a resident of Hopewell since 1955.

She graduated from nursing school in 1951 as a registered nurse and retired from John Randolph Medical Center in 1991. Mrs. Oestreich was preceded in death by: her husband Harry "Bud"; parents, George and Mary Dunsten Koch; and brother, Donald Koch.
She is survived by: her daughters, Debra A. Kelly (fiancé, Jack Hughes), and Donna L. Bear (Chris); grandson, Aubrey J. Taylor (Debra); granddaughter, Karlah M. Taylor; and great-grandson, Devan C. Taylor, all from Hopewell.
Fran loved to travel and was an avid reader. She spent many years volunteering her time. Over the years, she worked with MYF (Methodist Youth Foundation) and the Dana Tyson Circle with Wesley United Methodist Church, Girl Scouts, Jobs Daughters, and Meals on Wheels.
Visitation will be held at J.T. Morriss & Son Hopewell Chapel from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. A celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at J.T. Morriss & Son Hopewell Chapel. Interment to follow at Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell.
