Audrey Joyner Hooker, 84, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014. Born in Nash County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Lucille Long Joyner.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willis Clayton Hooker; and daughter, Joyce Ann Early.
Audrey is survived by: her son, James Hooker (Vickie); adopted son, Jason House; grandsons, Larry Davenport, Steven Davenport, and Jeffery Hooker; granddaughters, Cathy Hickman, Whitley Hooker and Amber Carey; great-grandchildren, Samantha Davenport, Christopher Hickman, Amanda Alfo, Justin Davenport, Jennifer Valadez, Savannah Hooker, Chase Hooker, and Cole Carey; great-great-grandchildren, Baudelio Valadez Jr., and Jaxson Valadez; and numerous other loving family; and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
