Very quietly and peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, God closed the eyes of our beloved Earlean Winfield Edwards as she slipped away and entered into eternal rest at her residence in Waverly.

Earlean was born on Feb. 4, 1939, in Sussex, to the late Earl Nicholas Winfield and Susie Mae Brown. She was educated in the Sussex County school system, Sussex.

She joined Pleasant Grove United Church of Christ at an early age. Earlean had a love for her family and enjoyed being outdoors. She had an uplifting spirit and an encouraging word for everyone and would give you her last dime. She loved her pet dog, Tia, which she had for 17 years.

Earlean retired from Cintas, formerly known as Metropolitan Linen service, as steam presser.

Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by: her husband, Clinton (Skinner) Edwards; her sister, Pearlie Birchette; and her brothers, Clarence Winfield, Clifton Winfield, and James Marshall Winfield.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: two daughters, Brendine Easley (Henry) of Dinwiddie, and Lisa Conaway (Raymond) of Courtland; her brothers, William Winfield (Linda) of Waverly, and Earl Winfield Jr. (Shirley) of Newsome; her sisters, Lucy Lewis (Clyde) of Portsmouth, Nancy Winfield, Gloria Lowery (William) and Janette Winfield, all of Waverly, and Brenda Massenburg of Prince George; grandchildren, Alicia Edwards of Waverly, Quinton Castle of Dinwiddie, and Jamani Conaway of Courtland; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends, one devoted, Erik Hill of Stony Creek.
