Fannie Ruby Hanchey, 93, of Hopewell, died Saturday, June 7, 2014.

She was born the daughter of the late Mack Daniel and Anna Harris King, and is the widow of Earl Ephraim Hanchey. She worked as a secretary for 30 years at E.H. Saunders and Son and attended South Hopewell Church of God.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn H. Rawlings and husband, Ernest; a grandson, Stacey L. Rawlings and wife, Lois; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Sydney and James Rawlings.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, at the funeral home with Pastor Thurman Collier officiating. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the South Hopewell Church of God. Condolences may be registered at
