Mr. Alfred Lee White Sr., "Billy Beaver," 83, of 216 S. 7th Ave., Hopewell, departed this life Saturday, July 5, 2014. He was born in Prince George to the late Anthony and Victoria White.

Alfred was a member of the Church of Brothers, Wakefield, Va.
He was preceded in death by a special person, Gladys E. Taylor; son, Alfred Taylor Jr; sister, Elizabeth Dixon of Petersburg; two brothers, Ernest and Harvey White of Prince George; and daughter, Dorothy Charles.
He leaves to cherish his memories seven children, Bobby Taylor (Kathy), Linda Ellis, Elizabeth Merritt (John), Betty Monroe (Daniel) of Colonial Heights, Wayne Taylor (Linda), Christopher Taylor, Jackie Bannister (Eugene) of Maryland; one sister, Mable Lee Wyche of Petersburg; son-in-law, Jack Charles; 63 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, among the very devoted, Bertha and Willie Burns, Tammy Jones, Brionna Taylor, Danyell Sanderson, Kathy Stephens, John Merritt, Becky White, Joyce Rose; and very devoted neighbors.
Funeral services for Mr. Alfred L. White will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the chapel of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell; the Rev. Dr. Robert Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery. The family will assemble 1 p.m. at the chapel on the day of service.
