Mrs. Carolin Ann Bennett Bing Skelton, 62, of 35 W. Fillmore St., Apt. 105, Petersburg, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, July 10, 2014, at her residence.

She was born in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of Mrs. Elsie M. Parker Bennett and the late Richmond Bennett Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pernell Skelton, and brother, Richmond H. Bennett Jr.

At an early age she was baptized at Little Zion Baptist Church, Carson, Va., and confessed Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Before her declining health, she was employed by the City of Petersburg for over 20 years.

Carolin leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Mrs. Elsie M. Parker Bennett; her sister, Dorothy Alston; and one brother, Alvin S. Bennett. She also leaves behind two devoted daughters, Pastor Tina P. Bing Williams (Xavier) of Southlake, Texas, and Tamara D. Bing of Petersburg, Va.; two grandsons, Tavez W. Bing and Timothy X. Williams; and one granddaughter, Troi I. Williams; one uncle, Ronnie Parker of Kingston, N.Y.; and one aunt, Doris Parker of Carson, Va.; one sister-in-law, Mary Eva Prosise; and three brothers-in-law, Robert Skelton, Maynard Skelton (Dolores) and James Skelton (Cora). She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Special

A celebration of life will be held at Little Zion Baptist Church, Carson, Va., on Wednesday, July 16, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. D. Tyrone Brandon Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Harvell Family Cemetery in Carson, Va. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
