Mr. Jessie Lee Parham Sr. 82, of Stony Creek, Va., died on Aug. 23, 2014, at Southside Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. "Jessie Lee", as he was known as, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a loving smile that will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Charlene Thweatt; granddaughter, Gloria Parham; and his siblings, Wayman, Richard, and Nellie Parham, Ethel Dancy, and Ruth Pegram.
Jessie Lee was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church for many years. He served on many organizations within the church, such as the Missionary Board, the Usher Board, and a member of the Male Chorus. He was a retiree of Brenco Company, with over 30 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eunice "Dena" Parham; his children, Jessie Parham Jr., Alton Parham (Penelope), Philistine Morgan (Jerome), Carolyn Pettaway (Keith), Lisa Taylor (James), and Donzell Parham; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, twin sister, Elsie Brown, Edith Parham, and Ellen Walker; one sister-in-law, Mae Parham; two brothers-in-law, Roger Clanton and Walter Clanton.
A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 23503 Flatfoot Road, Stony Creek, with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. David L. Banks Sr., officiating. Burial will commence at the Parham Family Cemetery, Dinwiddie. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. on the morning of the service for the processional.
