Deacon Cedric White, "Porky," of 21125 Old Vaughan Road, Dinwiddie, Va., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at the his residence with his wife and daughter beside him.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1958, to the late Richard T. and Annie Coleman White. He was a graduate of the Dinwiddie High School Class of 1978.

He was a former employee of S.W. Funk. He was a skilled carpenter who loved his work and took great pride in it. He was also an avid Redskins fan.

Deacon White was an active member of the Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, and served as a deacon, a member of the male chorus, the brotherhood ministry and former member of the ushers ministry. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard J. White. He was married to the late Camilla Lundy White. He was a devoted husband and cherished time spent with all family members. We will love and miss our beloved, Deacon Cedric White.

Left to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Evangelist Ella Taylor White, a daughter, Cedreka White, both of Dinwiddie; sons, Bishop Kippy Lundy (Cynthia) of Prince George, and Derrick Lundy of Petersburg, and Russell Taylor "Jay" of Waverly; granddaughter, Cierra Lundy of Prince George; brothers, William White, Darnell White (Wanda), all of Dinwiddie, Vernon White (Carolyn ) of Petersburg; sisters, Ruby Dickens, Dorothy W. Beasley (Joseph) of Dinwiddie; uncles, Deacon Benjamin Hardy (Evangelist Barbara), Freddy Hardy (Nancy), all of Petersburg; brothers-in-law, Lorenzo Hatch of Richmond, Dud Lundy (Myoung-hy) of South Carolina, Greg Lundy (Diane) of North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Irene Shaw (Horace), Christine Hatch and Ethel Walker, all of Waverly; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted friends, among them, very devoted, Alfrey Harris; a devoted twin sister, Sandra Bradby (Duane) of Charles City.

A homegoing celebration will be held at noon Monday, Sept 1, 2014, at the Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Larry D. Brown Sr., eulogizing. Burial will commence at the Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery. The family will assemble at 11 a.m. on the day of the service. Public viewing will be held on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at the funeral home.
