On Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, our hearts were saddened by the sudden loss of our loved one, Mr. Timothy Melvin Byrd (Creeper), a lifelong resident of Petersburg, Va.

He was born on July 17, 1959,to Joseph C. Byrd and Shirley P. Byrd. He attended the Petersburg City Public Schools System. He was baptized at an early age at Good Shepherd Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Byrd, and a brother, Gregory A. Byrd.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Shirley P. Byrd of Petersburg, Va.; one brother, Joseph G. Byrd (Cynthia); two sisters, Cynthia B. Lee (Jerry) of Richmond, Va., and Audrey M. Byrd of Petersburg, Va.; nephews, Dionco Byrd (Leticia), Joseph C. Byrd and Barry Brown Jr.; a niece, Tiffany Byrd; one great-nephew, Amir Dickerson; and one great-niece, Jada Byrd; one aunt, Marion Simon of Virginia Beach, Va.; godmother, Gladys Jordan of Petersburg, Va.; two devoted cousins, Brenda Baxter and Stephanie Simon; a special friend, Kim Saunders; numerous devoted friends to include Kimberly Starks, Carolyn Thurman, Robin Flowers, Brenda Hines, Crissy Baugh, Angela Drayton, Teresa Carter, Shelly Redwine, Deborah Buford, James Scott, Marvin Swiney, Harry Shands, Ernest Baker, Earl Neverson, Reginald Brown, Ramon Brown, Kenny Thomas, Sir John Dickerson, Teddy Taylor, Ardell Crane, and Glenn Wade, Johnnie Bush, Joyce Wiggins; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service for Mr. Timothy M. Byrd will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Jeffrey L. Reaves Sr., senior pastor, eulogist and the Rev. Barry O. Brown Sr. officating. Interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the funeral establishment.
